On the Table

During the month of October, 13 groups hosted On the Table discussions, Town staff visited Tuscarora High School, and one group went door-to-door asking questions about Leesburg. By the end of the month, we had comments back from close to 200 people. We learned from these groups that there's a lot to like about Leesburg! People commented on the historic character, the small-town charm, the sense of community, and the vibrant downtown. They love that Leesburg is walkable and that there's plenty of access to green space.

It wasn't all positive, though. Unsurprisingly, traffic is a big issue, and people are worried that continued growth is going to make it worse. They're also concerned that the growth will have a negative impact on all of those things that they love about Leesburg. Young people, in particular, are concerned about the loss of green space, and everyone wants to keep the small-town feel.

The current On the Table window is closed now, but we may be making it a yearly event.

You can still give us your thoughts on Leesburg by answering the questions in the survey below. The more people we hear from, the more successful this plan will be.
